Why More Time Trials Could Make Pogačar MORE Dangerous

Next July the Tour de France has 71 km of time trials, its most since 2012. That year, Bradley Wiggins won the long time trials and almost nobody attacked him in the mountains. Christian Prudhomme says more time trials mean more attacks. We test that against the Tour's history: Miguel Indurain and Claudio Chiappucci's raid to Sestriere in 1992, Wiggins, Chris Froome and Team Sky in 2012, the Tours with fewer time trials from 2015, and Greg LeMond's eight-second win over Laurent Fignon in 1989.
