Le Grand Tour d' Europe 2024 (DAY 12) - Fjelsted - Copenhagen via SWEDEN. Sped up video recorded on a windscreen mounted GoPro. The trip was a 52 day driving tour of northern Europe taking in 17 Countries. Almost the entire route avoiding motorways. Day 12 - 'Bridges and Vikings'. While at the hotel last night somebody gave me a recommendation they said we ought to visit the Vikingeskibsmuseet (Viking Ship Museum) in Roskilde, so, after breakfast we set off. Stopping along the way to visit the Nyborg Slot (Nyborg Castle) and had a lovely coffee stop in the town before crossing the impressive Storebæltsbroen (The Great Belt Bridge). We arrived at the Viking Ship Museum in time for some lunch and a good look around the museum. It was a great recommendation! Then we set off towards Copenhagen. However, as we would be so close and doing daft things is our want, we crossed the famous Øresund Bridge, made famous (in part) by the television series 'The Bridge'. This crossing spans an impressive 16km with a combination of the bridge and a tunnel. Once across the bridge we were into Sweden and our 6th Country of this trip. Making sure we were fed and watered in Sweden (for it to count as having been visited) and picked up some Swedish souvenirs, we crossed back over 'The Bridge' back into Denmark and made our way to our spectacular hotel on the outskirts of Copenhagen. Home for the next 3 nights.
