A GALLERY AND ITS TIME

To celebrate twenty-five years in the field of art, Art Alive Gallery has brought together a glimpse of this wonderful journey and the stories of the artists, ideas, collaborations, friendships, and enduring conversations associated with the gallery through a special film ‘A Gallery and its Time’. The film was screened during the preview of ‘A Moment in the Monumental’ – a landmark exhibition tracing 25 years of Art Alive. More than an account of the gallery’s history, the film reflects on Art Alive’s sustained contribution to the field of Indian art through landmark publications as well as through exhibitions that went beyond introducing artists to exploring new ways of seeing, interpreting, and presenting art. Over the years, these initiatives brought together diverse artistic practices, histories, and visual languages, creating spaces for dialogue and discovery. At its heart, ‘A Gallery and its Time’ is a thread connecting the many facets of Art Alive’s journey – a reflection on its people, practices, ideas, and the conversations that continue to shape its evolving story.
