Der Geher in Hamburg: Hochkamp

I am Der Geher and I'm out and about in the Hochkamp residential area. From the train station, I walk along Dorste-Hülshoff-Straße. In a wide arc through the apartments on Friedensweg and on the street Up de Schanz under the railroad. Return to the station on Schliemannstraße. Hochkamp is a fairly young part of Hamburg. It was only in the 1890s that Ferdinand Ancker and Friedrich Loesener bought land and divided up plots for villas. They financed the road network and the railroad station themselves. Just 8 years later there were 23 building sites. Even today, there are strict rules regarding the spacing and appearance of the buildings in order to maintain the impression of a villa district.
