Discover a quieter side of Kyoto at Kayabuki no Sato, a traditional village surrounded by the mountains of Miyama. Known for its beautiful thatched-roof houses, this small village offers a completely different experience from the busy streets and famous temples of central Kyoto. We arrived early in the morning, when everything was still closed and the village was incredibly quiet. We simply walked around, listened to the birds, explored the traditional houses, small shrines and cafés, and enjoyed the beautiful countryside scenery.
