What happens when your Antarctic station burns down in the middle of the polar night, and the first plane can't land for 41 days? In this sci-fi documentary, three people guarding the world's last seed vault must survive in a tiny emergency hut at −70°C, with fuel for only 33 days.
⚠️ This is a work of fiction. Kestrel Station, the Southern Seed Archive and every person in this story are invented.
The year is 2069. Deep in the ice of the Antarctic plateau lies a vault holding 1.2 million seed samples: the crops humanity may one day need to start again. Every winter, three people are sealed in with it. No sun for four months. No flights. No rescue. They melt snow for water, sleep under sunrise lamps, and walk the station every night at two to watch for the one thing that can kill them faster than the cold: fire.
On day 112 of the polar night, the smoke alarm goes off.
