Tawang Monastery & Giant Buddha Park 🏔️🙏 | Exploring the Spiritual Side of Tawang After exploring the breathtaking landscapes of Tawang, it was time to discover the **spiritual and cultural heart of this beautiful mountain town**. 🏔️✨ Our first stop was the magnificent *Tawang Monastery (Galden Namgyal Lhatse)* — one of the most important Buddhist monasteries in the region and the **largest Buddhist monastery in India**. Founded in **1680–81**, the monastery is a major centre of Buddhist learning and belongs to the Gelugpa tradition. It is also closely associated with the birthplace of the **6th Dalai Lama**. 🏯🙏 Perched high above the Tawang Chu valley, the monastery sits at roughly **10,000 feet above sea level**, offering spectacular views of the surrounding Himalayan landscape. 🏔️☁️ 🎟️ *Tawang Monastery Museum:* Around ₹20 per person 🏔️ *Elevation:* Approximately 10,000 ft / 3,000 m 🙏 *Significance:* A major centre of Tibetan Buddhist learning and one of India's most important Buddhist monasteries. From the peaceful atmosphere of the monastery, we then headed towards **Tawang Buddha Park**, where the enormous golden Buddha statue dominates the landscape. ✨🙏 The *Giant Buddha Statue* is an impressive gilded-bronze statue standing approximately *30 feet tall* and is a beautiful symbol of peace, devotion and spirituality.
