Texas Wild Boars Are Spreading Fast — And They're Far More Dangerous Than Anyone Expected On a quiet Sunday morning in November 2019, in the small town of Anahuac, Texas, a woman stepped out of her car in front of the house where she worked — and never made it to the front door. Not a person. Not a dog. A family of wild hogs, in the front yard, in daylight. Feral hogs now live on about 79% of Texas. Between 2 and 3.5 million of them. They grow around 20% every single year, and hunters remove barely a quarter. In this video, a Chinese engineer explains the numbers, the hidden dangers (water, disease, the land itself) — and why China made almost the same mistake with the same animal, just from the opposite direction. From Hernando de Soto's pigs in 1539 to China's official boar-hunting teams in Ningxia, this is the story of how two countries lost control of one animal. Where do you live — and have feral hogs reached your area yet? Tell me in the comments.
