The Source Magazine became one of the most influential institutions in hip hop, helping define the culture, breaking artists, shaping public opinion, and eventually earning the reputation of being the Bible of Hip Hop. As members of the original Mind Squad moved away from the company because Dave Mays the founder, tried to promote Benzino and his rap group Allmighty RSO, the internal structure of The Source began to transform.
