In April 2026, we bought a motorhome, packed it up and set off from Weymouth with no real idea what we were doing. What started as an escape from the routine turned into a 17-week, roughly 6,000-mile adventure through the UK and Europe. From England to Scotland, the Edinburgh Marathon and the Fairy Pools, to Ireland, the Ring of Kerry and Kerry Cliffs. Then Spain, France, the Alps, Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Germany and Belgium. Along the way there were castles, caves, beaches, mountains, rivers, ferries, incredible food, plenty of running and swimming... and quite a few moments when we wondered what we'd let ourselves in for. Some of the highlights were planned. Others happened simply because we happened to be nearby.
