Oasis Location: Tokyo, Japan Venue: The Garden Hall Date: 26th August 1995 Source: Multi-Sourced Recording The fifth show in Japan, the third in Tokyo and second in the Garden Hall on the Morning Glory Tour, this is arguably the most well known show of the lot, but still is definitely overshadowed by the big shows surrounding it like Glastonbury, Slane and the Earl’s Court nights. The recording was touched up by the great Thieving Magpie. One of the sources he used covers Supersonic and Hello as both songs were televised at some point, however if any more was filmed, who knows where it is now. The performance is still great however though. Liam sounds a bit raspy here and opts to play it safe on songs like Slide Away tonight but that doesn’t stop him in excelling in songs like Supersonic, Roll With It and I Am The Walrus. The band play very energetically at points too, such as in Rock N’ Roll Star (possibly the best rendition of the song from the tour). The setlist unfortunately is exactly the same as the previous shows but it is an enjoyable one so it isn’t too bad. The audience respond well to the set, especially Noel’s acoustic set where they clap along to the songs. There is some slight rough moments from him tonight but not anything major. Overall there isn’t much to say about this show due to the lack of information surrounding this small tour of Japan, but the show is definitely a good one with some great renditions of Shakermaker, Roll With It and I Am The Walrus.
