What is actual GDP of India 7.8 or 2.6?

The government’s own recent projections, gives hope for the India economy amid the ongoing global crisis. A GDP of 7.8 percent in the current financial year, after recent updates were made in the way India measures economic growth. However, former finance minister, Subhash Chandra Garg has raised doubts over the number. According to him GDP is a mere 2.6%. So what's the real story; are the numbers fudged?
