The Merchant's Daughter | A Heart-Touching Love Story | Learn English Through Story

Marina can read a ship's accounts faster than any man in the harbour office — and the whole town says that is exactly her problem. When her father falls ill, she takes over the family shipping office: one good ship, the Sea Lark, a small honest crew, and growing debts. Mr. Vane, the rich rival, offers to buy her out cheaply, certain a girl will fail before winter. But Marina is clever and brave. With Captain Adrian at the helm — the man the crew soon calls her fellow "two captains" — she fights for the year's richest cargo of silk and tea. Then, in the worst storm of the year, the Sea Lark does not come home... and Vane walks into her office with a paper to buy her house. Will Marina sign? And what really happened to the Sea Lark in the storm? Watch this heart-touching romantic story till the end! Improve your English listening and reading with this simple English story.
