PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH RAISES CONCERNS OVER MINING ON CHURCH LANDS

ACCRA: ACCRA: PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH RAISES CONCERNS OVER MINING ON CHURCH LANDS The Presbyterian Church has raised concerns over reports that some congregations are being asked to relocate from church lands following the discovery of gold deposits for mining activities. The Church says the reported developments, allegedly involving the support of some traditional and community leaders, raise concerns about the protection of religious properties and the environment. The concerns were raised during the 97th anniversary lecture of the Christian Council of Ghana, which called for stronger partnerships between the Church and the State to promote sustainable national transformation.
