Insider EXPOSES Supergirl drama! Milly Alcock MAD Over Man of Tomorrow CUTS! Clayflace FLOPS next!

New reports claim Milly Alcock’s screen time and role as Supergirl/Kara Zor-El have been significantly reduced in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow, even as the DC Studios co-CEO publicly denied rumors that she was fired from the DCU following the actress’s deletion of nearly all Supergirl-related Instagram posts—including her original casting announcement—after the 2026 Supergirl movie’s disastrous box office run that ended around $126 million worldwide against a roughly $170 million budget. The Instagram cleanup, which left only limited Reels and a Vogue promo, fueled speculation about her future in the DC Universe just as Gunn shot down claims of a firing, a bad Man of Tomorrow test screening, and other DCU rumors while revealing he was showing Peter Safran his first director’s cut of the July 2027 film. This latest reduced-role report arrives amid ongoing Clayface (often misspelled Clayfave) review drama, where early premiere reactions called the R-rated body-horror origin “freakishly awesome” and praised Tom Rhys Harries and director James Watkins, yet tracking remains weak in the Madame Web range, a first Rotten Tomatoes review labeled it “DC’s Morbius,” fake spoilers and Lanterns-related boycott calls circulated, and Mike Flanagan distanced himself from the finished film ahead of its October 23 release. With Supergirl already a major DCU flop that put pressure on James Gunn’s slate and the recent Paramount-Skydance takeover of Warner Bros., a underperforming or outright failing Clayface would intensify scrutiny on Gunn’s vision, further elevate the stakes for Man of Tomorrow’s success with David Corenswet’s Superman, and raise fresh questions about the long-term direction of the rebooted DC Universe.
