In Mark 9:1-13 of the King James Version, Jesus reveals His divine glory to Peter, James, and John on the Mount of Transfiguration. His appearance becomes radiant, and Moses and Elias (Elijah) appear and speak with Him. A voice from heaven declares, “This is my beloved Son: hear him” (verse 7), affirming that Jesus is the Son of God and that His teachings must be obeyed. This powerful event strengthens the disciples’ faith and gives them a glimpse of Christ’s heavenly majesty. Jesus also instructs them not to tell others what they have witnessed until after His resurrection from the dead. These verses remind us that Jesus Christ is greater than all who came before Him, that God’s Word must be taken seriously, and that the suffering and resurrection of Jesus are essential parts of God’s plan of salvation.
