Israel’s October 27, 2026 election has produced another political deadlock. Neither Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s camp nor the opposition alliance led by Gadi Eisenkot has secured a clear majority. With the Arab parties emerging as a crucial political force, their 17 seats could determine who forms the next government. But the opposition faces a difficult balancing act: bringing different parties together while negotiating the conditions on which Arab representatives may support a coalition. Netanyahu, meanwhile, could still benefit from divisions within the opposition and the uncertainty surrounding government formation.
