Alexa Controlled Accent Lights

In this video, I show how I installed an Accent / Security lighting control system using a Leviton D26HD Smart Dimmer, DD0SR 1 remote switch, and an Amazon Echo Dot for voice automation. I walk through: • How the Leviton smart dimmer system works • The wiring modification I had to make in the attic • How the remote DD0SR 1 switch ties into the circuit • How the Echo Dot controls the lights through the Leviton system This setup lets me control my exterior lights hands free, set schedules, and improve home security with smart automation. I show a mistake I made when purchasing the D26HD Smart Dimmer. I should have bought the DN6HD which is a No-Neutral system. But it requires the MLWSB Wi-Fi Bridge. Later on in the project I add these modules to control the Back Porch Lights and an out-building’s entry lights. So, total I have 20 LED lights that create a soft glow around the property. My mistake, this is the Leviton D26HD, I should have purchased the Leviton DN6HD which needs no ground wire to operate. But it needs the MLWSB WiFi Bridge to connect to your WiFi. ⚠️ Safety Warning Do not attempt to change or modify electrical wiring unless you are fully comfortable working with electrical systems. Always turn off power at the breaker and verify wiring before touching any electrical components. If you’re unsure, consult a licensed electrician.
