Operation Argument is a sequence of raids led by United States Army Air Forces and RAF Bomber Command against Nazi Germany. The objective is to destroy aircraft factories in order to defeat the Luftwafffe before the Normandy landings, planned for June. On Tuesday 22, the 306th Bombardment Group is involved in the deepest penetration of the day into enemy territory. The target is a Junkers aircraft factory in Bernburg. As the journey to the objective unfolds without much trouble, the group becomes soon the last one left on the way back...
