A man jokingly imagines writing a contract to protect himself from the overwhelming power of a woman he loves. Her eyes make him freeze, burn, forget to breathe, and feel as though he is falling into deep water. He gradually realizes that no words on paper can protect a heart from love. In the end he willingly surrenders, asking her to sign the “simple contract” that may bind them together forever.
