Minnesota native James Trantina has built quite a towing empire in the Upper Midwest. From Des Moines to Duluth, he has turned a single-truck operation into a network of 18 companies in 30 locations across Minnesota, Iowa and the Dakotas. On his own since 2012, the 38-year-old has averaged a new company for each year in business. “We’ve grown from one truck and myself to today with over 340 employees and 450 trucks,” explained Trantina, who oversees everybody as company President and CEO. “I didn’t expect to be as big as we are, but we’ve been able to manage our growth with great employees.” Come along for the ride as we take a closer look at Trantina’s operation at his flagship company, Collins Brothers Towing of St. Cloud.
