Jindera Hill Hike NSW | Adventure 007 Welcome to Cooee Hiking! 🥾🌿 In Adventure 007, we make a stop in the beautiful countryside around Jindera, New South Wales, as we break up our drive from Goulburn back to Melbourne, where our journey began. Our plan was to attempt the Jindera Gap to Centaur Road Trail, taking in the surrounding hills, open countryside and elevated views along the way. With a climb towards Hamilton Hill, this walk offered some good elevation and a chance to stretch our legs while exploring a part of NSW we might otherwise have driven straight past. One of the highlights of the hike was the spectacular spring landscape, with hillsides covered in bright yellow Capeweed flowers. Capeweed can be viewed as either a useful part of the landscape or an undesirable weed, depending on the land, its condition and how it's being managed. Whatever the perspective, when it flowers across the hills in spring, it certainly creates a striking scene and makes this a beautiful time to get out exploring. Our hike also brought an unexpected encounter with a NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) officer on his motorbike, who was looking for a missing person. We stopped and spoke with him about the situation — a reminder that things can happen out on the trail that go well beyond the hike itself. We wish everyone involved in the search the best. After our walk, we continued our journey south, making a stop at Sam Miranda King Valley in Victoria's beautiful King Valley wine region before continuing towards Melbourne. From the rolling yellow hills of Jindera to an unexpected encounter on the trail and a relaxing stop in wine country, this adventure was a great reminder that sometimes the best parts of a road trip are the places you stop along the way.
