Abandoned Trafford Park Ashburton Road West Level Crossing, Trafford Park, Manchester. Location: Ashburton Road West, Trafford Park Date Filmed: 25-11-2020 Located near to the Parkway roundabout and tram stop on Ashburton Road West. This is one of a couple of a few remaining examples of infrastructure from the old Trafford Park Railway, which is a disused railway that sprawls across the Trafford Park industrial estate. The network dated back as far as the early 1900s, but since fell into decline in the 1960s and had been neglected by the 1980s. The last trains stopped in 1998 so the railways and crossings have been abandoned since then. This crossing only has three halogen warning lights still standing, two of which are 'narrow' types. A few poles that probably held more warning lights are still standing. There's two tracks which cross the road at this location, however one is more visible than the other. The line continues to follow Ashburton Road West further into the industrial estate. Most of it now can't be seen as grass lawns have covered it up. Thanks For Watching!
