Fun... But A CHALLENGE 🏃‍♂️ | Oakwell Hall POV Parkrun Preview

This week's parkrun comes from Oakwell Hall in Batley. This was fun (I think) but a challenge, I think the best way to describe it is that there's too much going on to focus on how challenging it is - I mentioned it to a volunteer and they agreed, so to me it makes sense 😂 simply put, the course is a double loop starting at the entrance of Colliery field. There's ups, downs, obstacles, zigs and zags, it's a very varied course and it's ran on multiple terrains, so as we approach poorer weather I'd suggest trail shoes - I wore them today and I am glad I did. One thing I do want to add is that the volunteers were amazing, very friendly and encouraging PLUS with some added Yorkshire banter which was massively needed. In terms of facilities, there's plenty of parking onsite, toilets and a cafe too - so everything you need for a Saturday morning parkrun! As for the run and I was a lot slower than I'd have liked, I think this was one of my slower times in all honesty. I felt good doing it though, despite the challenge, and previously I probably would have stopped a few times but not today, so I'll take that was a win. I finished with a time of 28:02 but no top ten age range finishes, but you can't have everything!
