From the beautiful grounds of Peleș Castle to the lively cafés and restaurants of Sinaia town center, join Serene Walking Tours for a scenic walk through one of Romania’s best-known mountain towns.
The walk begins outside Peleș Castle, built as the summer residence of King Carol I. Ornate architecture, stone terraces, fountains and statues create a spectacular setting, surrounded by the forested slopes of the Carpathian Mountains.
Leaving the castle grounds, I continue through the trees, passing the Peleș Stream before following the wooded pedestrian route along Aleea Carmen Sylva. Here, souvenir stands line the walkway on both sides, creating a colorful little open-air market beneath the trees, with gifts, clothing and traditional crafts for visitors to browse.
Along the way, I reach Sinaia Monastery, the historic Orthodox monastery that gave the town its name. Its peaceful surroundings provide another glimpse of Sinaia’s heritage before the walk continues downhill toward the town center.
The atmosphere gradually changes as the forest paths give way to lively streets, cafés, restaurants and outdoor terraces. People strolling, meeting for coffee and enjoying the mountain-town atmosphere bring a warm, cheerful energy to the final part of the walk.
