Join me for a day in the life indoor bouldering vlog as me and my brother head into Manchester for a session at the climbing gym. This one’s all about indoor bouldering, training, stretching and calisthenics, working through a bouldering plateau and pushing from V5 to V6 climbing while focusing on self development and progression. If you’re into UK bouldering, Manchester climbing, or just trying to climb better, this vlog follows the process — warmups, hard bouldering attempts, and everything in between. I had a mid-week day off so we decided on a day out exploring Manchester and getting a proper session in at Depot in Trafford Park — easily one of my favourite climbing gyms around. I started the vlog the same way I start most big sessions: decent breakfast, then straight into a climbing warmup, including stretching for climbing, mobility work and light calisthenics for climbing. Nothing crazy — no max hangs — just some easy hangboard work and activation to get moving and ready for harder climbing. From there I worked through easier problems focusing on positioning and technique, something that’s helped my climbing improvement massively recently. After that it was time to start projecting — jumping onto V5 climbing and V6 climbing attempts, pushing limits and trying to level up. This session felt like real progress after a deload week, and even though this bouldering plateau has been frustrating, I’m seeing small signs my climbing strength training is paying off. I’m still loving the process of learning, development, and just getting better over time — especially with a climbing competition in Lancaster coming up. The goal right now is simple: keep training, keep improving technique, and keep working toward harder climbing. Let me know what you think of the video, my warmup for climbing, or my approach to training for climbing and progressing towards a one arm pull up. If you’ve got tips on how to train for climbing, how to improve climbing technique, or just how to be better at climbing, drop them in the comments — always keen to learn. ⸻ Links & Resources How to warm up for climbing — https://www.ukclimbing.com/articles/s...
