Dragon Quest 1 [Switch] - Casual Playthrough

"DRAGON QUEST" © 1986, 2019, Armor Project / Bird Studio / Spike Chunsoft / Square-Enix - All Rights Reserved ========================================= Recorded on March 4th and 5th, here's a four-segment run of one of the many versions of the original Dragon Quest! This was planned to be done eventually after January's FF1PR run. This particular version is based off of the mobile one released in 2013 that got ported on over to the Switch in 2019. This time around, we'll be bringing the adventure to you with light text commentary. It's by no means an expert run even though we'll take a few chances here and there to speed this one up in spots. The first Dragon Quest does have an uphill battle to climb with me since I'm not a fan of one-on-one RPGs but manages to succeed somewhat in spite of that due to its brevity and somewhat open-endedness. Unlike the Pixel Remaster for FF1, I'm not really sure what the definitive version of DQ1 would be as the mobile/Switch one does some neat tricks that even the Super Famicom one doesn't, but you lose out on some really nice sprite work. The NES original? Well, the randomizers and expert runs are fun to watch! Anyway, enjoy a Hero's journey to put evil in its place and return peace to the kingdom of Alefgard. Let's do our best and take on this Dragon Quest! ...No? But thou must! 1 (Intro) - 0:00 2 (Starting Out) - 0:45 3 (Erdrick's Cave & Kol [Faerie Flute]) - 12:09 4 (Rimuldar & Magic Keys [Sunstone]) - 24:18 5 (Galenholm & Galen's Grave Entrance) - 34:59 6 (Galen's Grave Dive [The Lyre of Ire]) - 45:56 7 (Rimuldar Return - XP/Gold Grind 1) - 52:47 8 (Loose Ends [Staff of Rain] & The Mountain Cave) - 1:09:54 9 (On Your Mark [The Mark of Erdrick]) - 1:20:50 10 (The Rainbow Drop) - 1:24:03 11 (Saving the Princess [Green Dragon]) - 1:33:32 12 (Cantlin [Golem]) - 1:42:38 13 (The Gold for the Silver - XP/Gold Grind 2) - 1:52:08 14 (Damdara [Erdrick's Armor]) - 2:22:41 15 (Charlock Castle, First Dive [Erdrick's Sword]) - 2:30:10 16 (Testing Our Mettle Against Metals - Endgame Grind) - 2:39:32 17 (Charlock Castle, The Home Stretch) - 3:12:48 18 (Final Boss [The Dragonlord]) - 3:19:50 19 (Victory March) - 3:23:05 20 (Credits) - 3:27:42 Extra (And...
