In the autumn of 331 BC Alexander met Darius for the last time, on the plain of Gaugamela beyond the Tigris. This second part follows him from there: Babylon and Susa, the Persian Gates, the burning of Persepolis, the death of Darius, the crossing of the Hindu Kush, Sogdiana, the killing of Cleitus, the rock and Roxana, India and Porus with his elephants at the Hydaspes, the army that would go no further, the march through the Gedrosian desert, the weddings at Susa, the mutiny at Opis, the death of Hephaestion, the last days in Babylon, the lost tomb, the Successors and the legend. This is part 2 of 2.
