Trains at Horsforth - 07/01/2025

Filmed on 07/01/2025. So, we have covered York and Leeds areas but there is one line which over the years quite surprised we haven't covered yet. This line takes the loop via The Harrogate Loop. The first of three stations on The Harrogate Loop brings us across to Horsforth (Season 12 Episode 3) A very special line for me as was born and bred in Harrogate and lived in the Harrogate, Starbeck & Knaresborough areas for 18 1/2 years of my lifetime. Anyway, since 2018 Northern and The Harrogate Loop began the new phase of purchasing former ScotRail class 170 Turbostar units. These at first were only to be used for The Harrogate Loop. As time went on, these began to phase out the Sprinters and the Pacer Buses which were common on this line. Still earning their keep today and operating majority of Yorkshire areas. In the recent years, LNER ran a daily HST service between Harrogate and London Kings Cross via Leeds and the same on its return journey.
