Chosen Exiles

Pastor David opens 1 Peter by reminding us that believers are “chosen exiles.” People whose true identity and eternal home are found in Jesus Christ rather than in this world. Through Peter’s own story and the opening verses of the letter, we see that God graciously chooses, loves, transforms, and calls His people to live differently for His glory. This truth should bring deep assurance in seasons of suffering and move us toward worship, obedience, and faithful living. When we understand who we are and whose we are, we can live with confidence as citizens of heaven, pointing others to the hope of the gospel.
