Welcome back to Cycling with Vincent! 🚴‍♂️🇨🇳 In this episode, I explore one of China's most extraordinary cultural treasures — the Dazu Rock Carvings in Chongqing, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. Dating back more than 800 years, these remarkable Buddhist sculptures are carved directly into the mountainsides, preserving centuries of Chinese history, religion, and artistic craftsmanship. My visit begins at the Dazu Rock Carvings Museum, where I learn about the history of Buddhist cave art in China. I then head outdoors to explore the breathtaking sculptures of Baoding Mountain. 🏛️ *Highlights of this episode:* Dazu Rock Carvings Museum The magnificent Thousand-Hand Guanyin The giant Reclining Buddha The Wheel of Reincarnation Traditional Buddhist sculptures and ancient Chinese craftsmanship What impressed me most was not only the incredible detail of these carvings, but also the stories and beliefs they have preserved for centuries. Through this journey, I hope to share a different side of China — beyond modern cities, into its beautiful landscapes, ancient history, and cultural heritage.
