Making Fantasies Come True: One Story at a Time… And this week is a catch-up week.
I am beating myself up because I took last week off because it was my birthday week, which caused me to fall behind on my word count goals. According to TrackBear, I am supposed to have roughly 16K words by the end of this week… and I am starting off at 10K words. I don’t think I have ever written 6K words in one project in five days. But I am going to give it a try. The goal for the week is to reach 6K words… Let's see if I can do it.
Monday: Goal 1,200 words… I had a great writing day. I was able to finish Chapter 1… which I have said was finished like 5 other times, but I told myself today that I was no longer going to work on it until I had my editor's feedback. Chapter 1 is done and I started to work on Chapter 2 that happens 2 years after Chapter 1. I decided with this book that I am going to have two to three chapters in the beginning of the book set in the past timeline, to set up what this story is going to entail. And at this current point I think at the end of Chapter 3, I want there to be a near death experience for JJ that causes him to completely cut off the past and forget about his alters and all the growth he worked through in the past and forget about all the trauma he has endured. Then the rest of the book is going to be JJ relearning his past with the help of his family and Christ. Ending Word Count of the Day: 1762/1200
Tuesday: Goal 1,060 words… Well, that number didn’t happen. I worked for 1.5 hours, and I realized that the past scenes that I had written were no longer going to work… so I deleted over 2K words from the working document. I am not happy about having negative words for the day, but I knew that those past scenes were most likely going to have to be deleted, but damn, 2000 words in one day, that is crazy. Luckily, the part that worked in the morning didn’t delete all the other scenes because boy, did they want to. Oh, how fun it is to have multiple personalities when one of them has little to no emotions when it comes to the words that Grace had once written. But Grace consented to the words being deleted, so she has no hard feelings. It is just me who is hurt because we lost so many words…. Ending Word Count of the Day: -2186/1060
Wednesday: Goal 1,420 words… Okay, so yesterday was a dud for my 6000-word written goal, but I am going to move past the fact that I deleted 2K words and focus on trying to write 6K this week. I spent the morning writing; I spent 2.5 hours writing with 1700 words added. I also finished Chapter 2 of the book. After I finished writing and ate lunch, I had to do some prep for CCD Class. I spent the rest of the day working on faith based growing. Ending Word Count of the Day: 1780/1420
Thursday: Goal 1,230 words… I started the morning doing 1.5 hours of writing which was great and I got 1689 words. I wanted to do more words later in the day, but that didn’t happen, which is okay because we just wanted to decompress for the fact that we have written 5321 out of our 6000-word goal for the week. During our sprints, I worked on Chapter 3, and I am about halfway through it, so tomorrow, I want to get the other half of it written. That way next week, I can edit Chapter 3 and continue to tell the story I want to finish. Ending Word Count of the Day: 1689/1230
So instead of working on Friday, I decided to just take the day off because it had been a long week of working on JJ. I ended up working for 7 hours during the week and I was just needing a break. So, on Friday, I just did some reading in one of my Catholic books. This one is called This Is My Body by Bishop Robert Barron. I had been trying to read it since August, and I just want the book done. I only read one chapter, but I plan on finishing it maybe this weekend. You will find out in the next video posted on Thursday which will be a Religious Weekend where I read and talk about CCD Class and how I want to improve my teaching.
But that is all I have to say. I am ending this week having added 5321 words and deleted 2186, bringing my grand total of words in the working document to 13,155. Overall, a great week and I will see you next week with Week 5 of my 160-Day Challenge. And remember to keep making fantasies happen, one story at a time, and have a lovely day… bye.
