A pure visual and audio document (without narration): only the authentic images and sounds of Ethiopia. Thanks to the generosity of those who donated, the Dorze community was able to build new bamboo huts to house orphaned children from nearby villages. The greatest thanks to the donors is the joy of the children as they were welcomed into the new hut and the celebration dedicated to them. (You can leave a message in the comments to learn more or to send a message of support to the Dorze community.) In the words of the project manager: "We selected children from 12 local villages (kebele). In these 12 villages, we identified 10 children, 7 of whom had lost both parents. After discussing the situation with the local administration, the community, and their relatives, we obtained consent to provide them with support and a home." In this 22-minute video summary (compiled from approximately 10 hours of authentic footage sent directly by our dear friend Teshome, the project manager), we document the entire process: from traditional Dorze architecture techniques to the inauguration celebration. Construction phases and key moments: 00:00 - Harvesting and preparing the bamboo 02:37 - Basic structure 06:57 - Weaving the slats and forming the roof 09:13 - The traditional "elephant" shape 12:07 - Waterproof roofing by expert craftsmen 16:10 - Interior details and finishes 18:20 - Orphans' arrival in their new home and thanks 19:00 - Inauguration celebration with the children 🤝 A heartfelt thank you to all the donors who made this possible and to Mr. Teshome for documenting every stage of the village.
