Ninja - Mad About Love (D.J. Version)

NINJA – MAD ABOUT LOVE (D.J. VERSION) (1987) Country: Italy Year: 1987 Label: Sensation Records Catalog No.: SNS 8069 Written by: Cristina Peri, Pier Michele Bozzetti Version: D.J. Version Format: 12", 45 RPM Style: Italo Disco MAD ABOUT LOVE “Mad About Love” is one of those late-80s Italo Disco records that remained almost completely hidden outside dedicated collector circles. Ninja was the Italian project built around vocalist, composer and producer Cristina Peri together with DJ and producer Enzo Benetti. There is another particularly interesting name connected with the record: Pier Michele Bozzetti, better known to Italo fans as Miko Mission, was also involved in its production. That connection alone makes “Mad About Love” an interesting piece of the Italian scene, but the music easily stands on its own. The D.J. Version strips the track back and puts much more emphasis on the rhythm, metallic snare, synthesizer sequences and extended instrumental passages. At almost six minutes, it has a distinctly rawer and more underground atmosphere than many of the polished Italo Disco productions released in 1987. The original Sensation Records pressing became extremely difficult to find and developed into a sought-after collector's item. In 2026, “Mad About Love” finally received its first proper vinyl reissue through Vintage Pleasure Boutique, bringing both the Vocal and D.J. versions back to collectors after decades of obscurity. Sit back and enjoy a journey back in time to an incredibly horny era. On your voyage, you will only find REAL 80s ITALO DISCO – without Euro Disco like Bad Boys Blue, Fancy, Silent Circle or Modern Talking. Great music, no doubt – but no Italo Disco.
