American slang can be tricky for interpreters because the literal meaning is often completely different from what the speaker actually means. In Part 2, we’ll review 30 more American slang and colloquial expressions that Spanish–English interpreters may hear in everyday conversations, legal settings, workplace situations, and community interpreting. You’ll practice expressions such as case the joint, double-cross, dough, down for the count, hush money, get someone’s goat, get the goods on someone, get the sack, and more. The goal is not to memorize one “perfect” Spanish translation, but to recognize the expression, understand the intended meaning, and choose the best interpretation for the context and register. Save this video and use it for interpreter vocabulary practice. Keep learning, keep interpreting, and I’ll see you in the next video. #SpanishInterpreter #InterpreterTraining #AmericanSlang #LegalInterpreter #CommunityInterpreter #EnglishSpanish #InterpretWithIdalia
