A Life Cycle Assessment provides a structured framework to measure the environmental footprint of merchandise from the initial extraction of resources until final discard. The methodology progresses through four specific phases, beginning with defining objectives and ending with final interpretations. During these evaluations, analysts track incoming elements like water, energy, and raw materials, alongside outgoing results such as primary goods, helpful byproducts, and refuse. Financial profitability is strictly excluded from the assessment, which instead prioritizes ecological impact and sustainability improvements. Furthermore, practitioners utilize two primary structures known as cradle-to-grave and cradle-to-cradle to map out linear trajectories versus circular recycling loops.
