Camino de Santiago — Will we make it?

We are walking the Camino again! Starting in Saint Jean Pied Du Port (SJPDP) and walking all the way to Santiago de Compostela. Why? Great question! We have a few answers: Because we loved our first Camino in 2024 so much is at the top of the list. Meeting people from all over the world with different points of views and reasons for walking made our journey unforgettable. The beauty of France and Spain was breathtaking and the challenge of each day's many steps, ascends and descends. There’s also something fascinating about what we will encounter as we pass each town and city and who will snore the loudest! :D So here we are starting the journey again in SJPDP. Just as excited and apprehensive as the first time. After all, we are a couple of years older and maybe not in as good a shape. But we are ready! Even before arriving we met a lovely couple on the train which made the ride go by in an instant. Later in the day we met the awesome duo of Ron and Jo from Australia who we even had dinner with. Then the morning arrived and we were about to have a very challenging but incredible day. And it was that and so much more! Fantastic weather and incredible views. Many wild-life encounters and lots of pilgrims to keep us company. But, we did notice that Steve was struggling quite a bit with his breathing and we both ended up totally out of energy after a very long day of 9.5 hrs of walking. Thankful to arrive in one piece and without injuries and to be even able to walk the 25+ kilometers. We did not have much energy to capture video and photos at Roncesvalles but we did like that we had beds and not bunkbeds at the top of the albergue. We had showers, had our clothes laundered for a small fee and rested a bit before the communal dinner. After that we just passed out until the lovely music they play in the morning to wake us up.
