The first story focuses on BSP chief Mayawati and her nephew Akash Anand. After Akash Anand was removed from the BSP, a fresh controversy has emerged around an alleged phone call in which he reportedly asked about Mayawati’s health. Mayawati has accused Akash of continuing to act under the influence of his father-in-law Ashok Siddharth and has also questioned the role of expelled leaders in spreading rumours about her health. The second story concerns a controversial claim by Kunda MLA and Jansatta Dal chief Raghuraj Pratap Singh, popularly known as Raja Bhaiya, about the Gen-Z student protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Raja Bhaiya alleged that the protesters received funding from Pakistan and the Middle East. The third story comes from Prayagraj, where TGT-PGT aspirants are protesting over teacher recruitment rules and demanding vacancies to be advertised under the old rules and examination pattern. With around 20,000 vacancies at the centre of the dispute, the agitation has continued despite police and administrative action. The protest site was cleared during a late-night operation, after which students returned to demonstrate and were again stopped by the administration. We also examine the FIR registered against student leader Ashutosh Pandey following allegations of assault and threats during a dispute at the Prayagraj Collectorate, along with his response that the allegations are false and that he was himself assaulted.
