Historical wooded area in Shankill #dublin #history

A new Apartment development has recently been built Coolevally built alongside a wooded pathway that dates back to the Napoleon era , a pathway that went from Shanganagh road to the Battery fort at Shanganagh cliffs when the line was moved inland due to coastal erosion in 1915 a level crossing was provided with a Gatekeepers house which would have been closed in the 1970's when the area was developed for residential housing and a bridge was built over the line and a new station was opened in June 1977.
