Get It Done with Southlake Automation Bag Depalletizing

A FANUC R-2000iC/165 robot de-palletizes bags of raw product for a process tank. Bags are identified with FANUC’s 3DV/1600 vision, and the robot picks eight bags per minute and places them on a bag slitting machine. The bag slitter opens bags and raw product transfers to the tank via a vacuum conveyor. When pallets are empty, the robot picks and stows each pallet and slip sheet. The system is fully integrated with the plant-wide process batching system. Product can be preloaded on the conveyor, and the robot will start when the process needs the product. 3DV/1600 vision sees the entire pallet and identifies bags vs. slip sheet vs. empty pallet (no slip sheet). The automated system improves operator workflow and time management since tasks like staging and adding raw material no longer depend on actual batch status. It also eliminates manual handling of 50lb bags, bag cutting tools, and waste.
