Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds - Horsell Common and the Heat Ray 'Idealised' Mix

I've been sitting on this since around March, but having heard other people's brilliant Idealised mixes, it inspired and motivated me to finally finish this off. Horsell Common was fairly well served for the New Generation, and still is today. Well. When the sitar is actually in tune, which it wasn't for most of the 2025 tour. The basis for this was simply the 2012 New Gen album, and then incorporating additions from 2018 - 2025. Most of the changes here are subtle additions, the most obvious being the acoustic guitar being added back in over the "Fat Man Theme". I've always loved the sound of it, and given the prominence of the guitar during the 2025 The Eve of the War, albeit not working well at all, I'm surprised it didn't return then. Maybe in 2028! The rest of the additions are mainly the synths from the original live tours. I've always thought they had a nicer sound, so put them back in. I also added in some distorted synth type thing that plays under the Fat Man theme, taken straight from the 2010 live tour. I love that sound and it's something I wish had carried over to the New Generation and beyond. Maybe in 2028...? The one thing I wish I could've added was the heat ray guitar climax ending from the cutdown version created for the Immersive Experience. Sadly it hasn't, and annoyingly most likely, will never be officially released. However, if it that ever changes, I'll definitely come back to this and add it at the end.
