Jefferson's Downtown Transformation | featuring Mike Palmer

What helped turn Jefferson's downtown into the place we know today? In this episode of Behind What Matters, we sit down with Mike Palmer, former Jefferson City Administrator and current Jefferson Matters Design Team Chair, to talk about the people, projects, and partnerships that helped shape downtown Jefferson. Mike shares the story behind the downtown streetscape project, how it helped spark building renovations and the beginning of Jefferson's Main Street program, and why investing in our downtown continues to make a difference. We also take a closer look at the work of the Design Team, including seasonal planters, flowers, holiday decorations, window displays, and the volunteers who help keep downtown looking its best. Plus, Mike shares why he continues to volunteer and encourages others to find their own way to get involved in the community.
