I didn’t actually plan on making a whole journal with this kit. 😂 But somewhere between April’s gorgeous naturalist imagery, a pile of premade ephemera, and everything I kept pulling from my stash… she just kept growing.
And growing.
And, well… now she’s a CHUNK. 😂
This is my latest @AprilStormPaperStudio Design Team project, created with The Naturalist, Naturalist Field Guide, and Apothecary’s Greenhouse kits.
Inside you’ll find two signatures filled with mushrooms, botanicals, butterflies, bugs, birds, vintage ledger from 1939–1940, music paper, wallpaper, glassine, altered envelopes, specimen cards, hidden paperclips, collage tags and plenty of places to tuck things away.
There are also a few experiments in this one—including a beeswax-treated cover piece that became beautifully translucent over the lace, and one of my favorite parts of the journal: an apothecary cabinet with little expandable “drawers” holding faux prescription ingredients.
And because I can apparently never leave well enough alone, there are pockets inside pockets, flips, tucks, belly bands, vintage lace, a tiny removable egg for a secret note…and probably a few things I’ve forgotten. 😂
I also intentionally left some spaces alone. I love a journal that gives its new owner room to add photographs, write, tuck in found treasures, save a pressed flower, or make it completely their own.

Thank you to April Storm Studio for another beautiful collection to play with. This one definitely took me somewhere I wasn't expecting—and I’m pretty happy I followed it.
Now tell me: what theme should I tackle next?
