"In ten years, half of the world's jobs will be in prompt engineering." Whatever happens with that prediction, the skills you've built in this series carry forward. This series finale recaps the core of prompt engineering and points toward what comes next.
We start with the art of prompting, bridging human and machine logic, and the token, a unit of text given a numeric representation for the AI to process sequentially. Then we revisit tuning the AI engine to control randomness: temperature for randomness (focused vs broad), Top-K for limiting to the top K tokens, and Top-P as a probability threshold. You'll review advanced prompting for structuring output, then enter RAG and agents to scale up, with a RAG system integrating a retriever, a knowledge base, and an LLM. We finish with the future of AI skills beyond the chatbot: where prompting is heading next, from complex few-shot examples to building RAG systems and shifting to background operation inside larger systems.
What you'll learn:
Tokens and how models read prompts
Temperature, Top-K, and Top-P in review
Structuring output with advanced prompting
RAG systems and agents
Where prompting skills are heading
How to keep building after the course
