In this full speech at the launch of the INSPIRE Project workshop at St Paul’s University, Prof. Abraham Waithima, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs, reflects on his educational journey and the importance of rethinking education around the needs of the child. Drawing from his personal experience growing up in a Kenyan village and progressing through the education system, he challenges stakeholders to reflect on a fundamental question: *Who are we designing education for?* Prof. Waithima calls for dialogue, collaboration and child-centred approaches to education, emphasising the need to develop learning strategies that serve children’s needs rather than simply follow established practices. The INSPIRE Project — INclusive and Sustainable Playful Innovation and Research in Education — brings attention to the role of collaboration and innovation in shaping more meaningful learning experiences for children. Watch the full speech for his reflections on education, personal experience and the importance of putting the child at the centre of educational innovation. #INSPIREProject #AbrahamWaithima #Education #LearningThroughPlay #EarlyChildhoodEducation #StPaulsUniversity
