Parliament is set to resume regional parliamentary sittings, with Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja confirming that outreach programmes are being used to take Parliament closer to leaders and communities across Uganda. The latest outreach in the Bunyoro sub-region brought together RDCs, LC5, LC3 and LC2 leaders from Kakumiro, Kibaale and Kagadi, who were educated on the roles of Members of Parliament, including representation, legislation, oversight and budgeting. Nabbanja said the programme will also help Ugandans understand what services Parliament and MPs provide — and where to seek services that fall outside Parliament’s mandate.
