We witnessed a large herd of wild elephants occupying the road, bringing our journey to a standstill for almost three hours. Watching these magnificent giants move through their natural surroundings was an incredible experience . Located near Chimminy Wildlife Sanctuary in Thrissur, Kerala, Chokkana is a beautiful destination surrounded by lush greenery, forest landscapes, and rubber plantations. Crop damage, blocked roads, threats to livelihoods, and the risk of injury to both humans and elephants highlight the need for responsible coexistence and effective wildlife conservation.
