Burke Ramsey said only a handful of verified words on record in 30 years — and this video traces every room he said them in.
In December 1996, six-year-old JonBenét Ramsey was found dead in her family's Boulder, Colorado home. Her nine-year-old brother, Burke Ramsey, became the quiet center of a case that has never been closed. This video does not guess what Burke knew. Instead, it tracks every documented room where his words were recorded: Detective Fred Patterson's interview on December 26, 1996; psychologist Dr. Suzanne Bernhard's session weeks later; Detective Dan Schuler's 1998 interview in Atlanta; the sealed 1999 grand jury testimony; and finally, the 2016 Dr. Phil interview where a 29-year-old Burke, sitting across from Phil McGraw, says the line that gives this video its spine: "But she was gone, so I didn't draw her."
Using Boulder Police Department releases, the 108-page 2016 complaint Burke's lawyers filed against CBS in Wayne County, Michigan, Alex Hunter's sworn affidavit, and reporting from the Associated Press, CBS, NPR, Westword and Newsweek, this video asks four questions of each room: who was across the table, who chose the questions, who could end the session, and who holds the tape today. It covers the disputed 911 call audio, the $750 million defamation lawsuit against CBS, the Spitz lawsuit, and Burke's refusal to appear in the 2024 Netflix documentary.
Watch the full breakdown and tell us in the comments: which of Burke Ramsey's "on the record" statements would you actually trust?
