Welcome back to City Girl Village Life Africa! ❤️🌿
Today, we bring you another beautiful day of authentic African village life, filled with family love, traditional cooking, delicious local food, and the simple joys of living together in the village. Join Ifeoma, Grandma, Mr. Okeke, Chibuike, Chidiogo, and the rest of the family as they share another memorable day at home.
The video begins with Grandma returning from church, where Ifeoma welcomes her warmly with love and happiness. After Grandma settles in, Ifeoma gets ready to prepare a delicious traditional dinner of boiled yam and native ukpaka sauce, a beloved local dish made with traditional ingredients and rich African flavours.
With Chibuike helping her in the kitchen, Ifeoma brings out the ingredients and begins preparing the yam. She carefully slices the tuber into smaller pieces and washes them thoroughly to remove all the dirt before cooking. Meanwhile, Chidiogo and her father, Mr. Okeke, head out to check on their palm trees, continuing the family’s everyday farm activities.
Back at home, Grandma receives a visit from one of her relatives. They exchange greetings and spend some time chatting before he leaves, showing the warmth, respect, and hospitality that make village life so special.
Ifeoma then places the washed yam on the fire to boil, while the children help keep the fire burning. As the yam cooks, she begins preparing the ingredients for her delicious native ukpaka sauce. She carefully debones the smoked fish, slices fresh onions and utazi leaves, and pounds the pepper to give the sauce its authentic traditional taste.
Chibuike also lends a helping hand by washing the dirty dishes, proving once again that everyone has a role to play in keeping the household running smoothly.
When the yam becomes soft and perfectly cooked, Ifeoma pours it into a sieve and turns her attention to the star of the meal: the traditional ukpaka sauce. Using palm oil, ukpaka (African oil bean), fresh pepper, onions, smoked fish, and other seasoning ingredients, she prepares a delicious native sauce packed with flavour. The aroma of the ingredients coming together makes this traditional dinner even more inviting.
While the cooking continues, Mr. Okeke and Chidiogo return from the farm carrying a gallon of freshly tapped palm wine. Mr. Okeke filters the fresh palm wine into a cup, and they enjoy a taste of this traditional village drink. It is another beautiful reminder of the connection between village life, farming, and the natural resources that have been part of African culture for generations.
Ifeoma adds the freshly sliced utazi leaves to the sauce, allowing the ingredients to come together before the food is finally ready.
At last, dinner is served! Ifeoma arranges the delicious boiled yam and native ukpaka sauce on a tray, and the family gathers around the table to enjoy their meal together. After a day filled with family visits, farm activities, traditional cooking, and helping one another, everyone sits down to share a satisfying dinner.
This is the beauty of authentic African village life: traditional recipes passed down through generations, children learning responsibility, relatives visiting, fresh produce from the farm, and families finding happiness in the little things they do together.
