Why I Stopped Wearing Makeup...| Sassy With The Saviour

Hi guys! This week's episode is slightly different, a lot more of a vulnerable testimony 🤍 What if the thing you've been relying on to feel beautiful is the very thing God is asking you to surrender? In this episode of SWTS, I'm sharing why I stopped wearing makeup and what God has been revealing to me about insecurity, comparison, validation, and finding my identity in Christ. After a women's conference, I began asking myself some uncomfortable questions. Why was I depending so much on my appearance to feel confident? Why did I compare myself to other women? And why had I allowed my skin insecurities to take up so much space in my mind? I've struggled with acne for over half my life, and somewhere along the way, makeup became more than something I enjoyed. I began relying on it to feel beautiful, confident, and ready to be seen. So, 12 days ago, I decided to step away from makeup and bring this part of my heart honestly before Jesus. We'll reflect on 1 Peter 3:3–4, Genesis 1:26–27, Romans 12:1–2, Galatians 1:10, and the story of the woman who reached out to Jesus in Mark 5:24–34. A little reminder: This isn't about makeup being sinful, and I'm not telling every Christian woman to stop wearing it. This is a personal conviction and a journey God is taking me on in this season. The goal isn't to prove that I can live without makeup. It's to discover that I can live without making my appearance the foundation of my worth. Whether you wear makeup every day or never wear it at all, I hope this conversation encourages you to examine where your confidence comes from and allow Jesus to transform your heart from the inside out.
